The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004)

Wes Anderson’s unmistakable aesthetic goes to sea for his fourth and arguably deepest feature. Over-the-hill documentarian Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) wants oceanic revenge. Oblivious to the doubts of his crew and his ex-wife, who’s taken up with smarmy rival oceanographer Alistair Hennessey – played by an Adonis-like Jeff Goldblum – Zissou embarks on a quixotic quest encompassing a skeptical reporter, rescues from pirates, and possibly meeting his own son. Even while a hostage, Goldblum commands respect, while providing many of the most unforgettable lines in the film.
