  • Synopsis
  • EVERYBODY GET IN LINE for our third annual no-chairs, all-dancing screening of Jonathan Demme’s seminal 1984 concert documentary, Stop Making Sense. This electric film captures the brilliance of the Talking Heads, taking you into the audience at one of their inimitable shows. Sing along with David Byrne, prance like Tina Weymouth, and toast the late (and immeasurably great) Bernie Worrell at the newly christened Court 13 Arts warehouse. Bring your friends, bring your kids, bring you best Big Suit.

This year’s screening is dedicated to the late Jonathan Demme, who in addition to Stop Making Sense directed such classics as Something Wild, The Silence of the Lambs, and Philadelphia. To celebrate Demme’s legacy, the Krewe of Vaporwave will debut their multi-channel mobile video installation with sequences from throughout his unparalleled filmography. With Demme’s passing, we have lost one of the great American filmmakers. His humane and generous style are hallmarks of what make Stop Making Sense what it is.

Doors open at 6:00 PM for installation viewing, with the film starting at 9:00 PM. Food from Gattone Grasso will be available, and drinks will be available by donation. The Good, the Bad, and the Fugly will host a pop-up thrift shop. Bike valet is once again provided by Bike Easy. Online ticket sales have ended, but we have plenty of tickets available at the door!

    Does anybody have any questions??
