This program is interested in the means filmmakers use to explore their surroundings.

Playful editing in the mode of documentary observation, manipulation of hand-painted slides, film stock given over to the sea, collaborative exploration of a toxic environment, media. The program encourages the idea that, as a 2019 Armory Center exhibition on Sara Kathryn Arledge put it, ‘subjective, “alternative” normals are equally legitimate.’
