  • Synopsis
  • This engaging documentary shares the little-known story of Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr, who in addition to starring in such films as Sampson and Delilah and Ziegfeld Girl, helped invented technology that paved the way for cell phones and WiFi.

Our post-screening talk will be led by Flor Serna, co-founder and Executive Director of Electric Girls. Electric Girls, which started out as Flor teaching a handful of girls how to wire circuits and operate power tools has grown into a wide-reaching organization to empower girls through STEM in the greater New Orleans area.

Science on Screen® at Shotgun Cinema is made possible through a grant from the Coolidge Corner Theatre, with major support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
